  So if you follow me on instagram you probably know that I have been in LA for the past 5 days looking at a college {entire post on FIDM and their 3 Days of Fashion coming soon}. Sorry I've been MIA, but it was so nice to enjoy my vacation with my mom! I still took blog pictures {guess who forgot their camera at home? aka iPhone pics- ugh} and I will be uploading those very soon! Hope you all had a fabulous week and are enjoying your weekend!

Gingham + Pearls

 

First off, this week has been CRAZY hectic for me. I work at a Christian school and do summer camp for Pre-K 3 (aka there are 15-18 toddler nuggets I chase after every day) and I am literally exhausted every day after work. Since I typically always wear Nike shorts, a T shirt, and running shoes to work every day I've had to start taking pictures on the weekends! I love this outfit because of the print/texture mix between the metallic tweed and the neutral gingham. I think the pearls give the outfit a finishing touch (although this outfit would be WAY better with this Bauble Bar beauty here- certainly on my to buy list for my next paycheck) as do my go to Tory flats. Hope your week is going smoother than mine... but the good news is it's almost Friday!!

Trina Turk for Banana Republic

 

Summer is typically my favorite time of the year {despite the sweltering temperatures} and maxi dresses and summertime go hand in hand. It is so incredibly easy to throw on a pretty maxi and look effortless. Maxis are a definite go to for the Summer and of course I love this one because it's got such beautiful colors! This dress was from last summer and part of the Trina Turk xx Banana Republic collection. I would check eBay if you are interested in any of the pieces of the collection!

Fifty Shades of Blue

Let me first apologize for the fact that I haven't posted in quite some time... It has rained literally every day for the past two weeks and we've had several flood warnings and tropical storms, along with wonderful 95 degree afternoons. {Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Florida weather?!} So I have been dodging the rain to take outfit pictures but I finally managed to take a few today before I went out on a dinner date!

Black + White

 

Today I decided to go simple and pull on my absolute favorite pair of jeans {I swear by these} and a simple top. I love the pretty little detailing on the shoulder of this LOFT top, my only complaint is that it wrinkles WAY too easily. But that never stops me from throwing the comfy white top on. This outfit was an easy way for me to look put together while still being casual and comfy. Hope everyone is having a fabulous week!

Dreary = cozy

 

So when the weather gets rainy and overcast I have this habit of always reaching for anything warm and cozy (despite the fact I live in Florida and when it rains it's typically 80-something degrees) I have always been this way and it always seems like I reach for soft sweaters when the rain starts pouring. Another rainy day essential for me is coffee (I cannot confirm or deny that I got a grande white chocolate mocha no whip at my local Starbucks today as well) Does anyone else tend to gravitate toward comfy essentials when the weather gets dreary? Hope your weekend is going well.
