Pink & Polka Dots

Happy Hump Day, friends! I absolutely love this top and I decided to have a little bit of a 50's moment and pair the pink with black polka dots. It's such a fun outfit and perfect for a summer day!

As Good as Gold

Happy Monday, friends! I'm so excited to show y'all this outfit today! Recently, I found this gorgeous vintage gold top and had to have it. My outfit totally screams holiday party but I'm pretending it's not Summer and 95 degrees out. Maybe it's just me, but this top reminds me of the Great Gatsby/ fashion from the 20's.

Polka dots + Floral

I'm finally back with an outfit post! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend, I definitely did! I've been wearing a lot of neutrals lately, so I decided to switch things up and wear this lovely combo. And I'm trying out the middle part finally! I'm a major fan of mixing prints; it's do-able as long as your prints aren't both loud and fall within the same color range. What prints do you love to mix?

Healthy Hair

So, I rarely wear my hair natural (except for work during the summer) and therefore it is prettyyyyy damaged. I've come across a few products lately that definitely help keep my hair healthy and split ends to a minimum. I use Bead Head Urban Anti-dotes Shampoo and Conditioner and it does a phenomenal job of making my hair shiny and soft post shower. My stylist is a freak about hair products so she's always giving me new ones to try. I use a wide tooth comb to brush through wet hair and then I apply Bain de Terre Reconstructive oil to my damp hair, but only on the ends. I swear by this stuff. Next, I use Enjoy's conditioning spray everywhere but my roots and I finish it off with the Schwarzhkopf Color Save Sealed Ends. I highlight my hair about 2 or 3 times a year so it helps to keep the damage under control and the color long lasting. I try to use the elastic hair bands which reduce damage and I ONLY use ceramic irons on my hair, my favorite is the Helen of Troy flat iron from Sally's Beauty. And if I do wear a topknot (it's been on heavy rotation lately), I LOVE this beach waves spray because of the texture it gives my hair! How do y'all keep your hair healthy?

What's in My Purse?

As you can probably tell, I totally slacked on doing outfit pictures this weekend. I got back from the beach late Sunday afternoon and just wanted to spend the rest of my day being lazy and watching movies (no shame) so in the meantime I'm trying to find fun posts that I can still put up. I was recently tagged on Instagram to do a What's in my Purse and I thought it would be fun to do, so here we go. I typically carry my Longchamp le Pliage Large tote, found here, and it's usually a crazy mess inside. I pulled out my current read, The Carrie Diaries (just started, will keep you posted on how it is), my keys and J.Crew tassle key chain, clear nail polish (this is Sally Hansen's No Chip Top Coat), and a TON of elf lip glosses, my absolute favorite. I also found a Baby Lips, Estee Lauder pink lipstick, and two Revlon Kissable Balm Stains in Rendezvous and Mystery. In the bottom picture I have my Kate Spade coin purse, iPhone (upgrading soon!), Ray Ban aviators and case, and my Tory Burch reading glasses with case. I also have an extra Lilly Pulitzer croakie. What do you keep in your purse?

Dying to Decorate

As most of you may know, I'm going into my Senior year of high school in August and I'm beyond excited! As of right now, FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) in LA is on the top of my list for colleges! As much as I'm excited for this year and all it will entail, I'm most excited to be able to decorate my own apartment (FIDM doesn't have dorms!) come college. I literally have an entire secret board on Pinterest (ps follow me if you don't Pinterest.com/laureneparrish) devoted to future apartment ideas. Here's a little round up of what my place would (hopefully will) look like.

Favorite Nail Polishes: Summer

Prior to the last six months, I never ventured beyond my play-it-safe coral color when it came to my nails, deciding to wear different colors was probably the most fun choice I've ever made. I think having freshly painted nails will instantly make you feel more polished and put together. I'm big on painting my own nails, so I always try to pick up a pretty new polish when I see one I like. These are my favorites for Spring or Summer (or just if you're feeling bright nails!) Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Day to Night: Boyfriend Jeans (Part 2)

Happy almost Friday, friends! I'm so thrilled to be showing you this outfit simply because I love every aspect of it. The top is perfect, with it's stripes and sequins, and I love mixing a more dressy piece with a typically more casual piece (boyfriend jeans). The leopard adds to the outfit, too, because it's so unexpected (leopard is totally a neutral in my book though!) This goes to show you that you can definitely make pieces in your wardrobe work for both day and night! I'm headed off to the beach tomorrow morning with my boyfriend for a friend's wedding weekend so I'll be back Monday!
